Extremely appealing pair of portraits of children at play by well-known Amsterdam portraitist Charles Delin. Although Delin is best known of portraits of Americans ship captains and officers, he occasionally painted children. These portraits were most likely painted of an American officer's children who had accompanied their father on a voyage, a common practice during the period. Oil on canvas, in the original frames,cleaned and relined, framed size 23" x 26".
