Description
E. Joy Morris Outside Row Stander, circa 1896-1904, last rode the PTC carousel at Lake Quassy on Lake Quassapaug, Middlebury, CT. Beautifully carved bird draped behind the cantle. These outside row horses left the factory as standers, but were later converted into jumpers during the 1920’s because jumpers were more popular. See p. 74, Painted Ponies¸ for more on this popular carousel and a photo of another horse that was converted to a jumper. After leaving the carousel, this horse was professionally converted back to its original form as a stander. Restored by Ken & Barb Weaver, 61”L x 65”H.
Price: $12,000.00
