An Important Federal Mahogany Pembroke Table
Baltimore, Maryland, Circa 1790-1800

The shaped top with molded edge and central paterae medallion with D-shaped drop leaves with string border inlay above a rectangular case with bowed ends, resting on tapering line-inlaid legs ending in cross-banded cuffs.  The finely executed vase and flower inlays are well documented in Baltimore furniture of the period.  See pp 39 & 326 Montgomery's American Furniture: The Federal Period.  Refinished in the 1960's.
